New

So I have some fun things happening right now. After 3 years of living with my parents (it was supposed to be no more than a year) I am moving into a house with a friend of mine. She bought a big new house on Gilbert and Riggs (about 15 minutes from my parents) and asked me to be her roommate. The price is right and way cheaper than living on my own. Plus her sister lives next door and works at my school so we can carpool. That will save me money and gas. The downside, I like to go in at 6:30am and she doesn't like to go in until 7am. I guess I can live with that. School starts at 7:55 and we don't really have to be there until 7:30. It should also cut 15 minutes each way off my commute but we'll see if thats just because she speeds a lot.

I got a brand new cell phone today, a Palm Pre Plus. I wanted a blackberry but they were out of my price range. I didn't want an IPhone because my Ipod had an accident (I dropped it face first on the tile and cracked the screen) and it made me think I needed a little more resistant cell phone. I don't plan on dropping it but I didn't plan on dropping my ipod. My ipod does still work just in case you were wondering. Maybe my family will get me a new one for my B-Day. I won't hold my breathe though.

Now I just need to buy a bed and a desk for my new place and I should be good to go. The bed and desk are about the only things my parents want to keep in the guest room. I start work on Tuesday, the kids start next Monday (the 9th). Thats about it. I have been reading your posts and sorry I don't comment on them very often. I will try to get better but no promises.

New Grade, Same School

I got my placement on Thursday. I get to stay at my school but I am moving to Fourth Grade. I am a little nervous since going from K to 4th will be a very big jump. Also there will only be 3 of us instead of 4 because the numbers are low. We should start the year with 26 each. To me 26 4th graders doesn't seem low but we are allowed to have 35 each.

I also lost 2 more pounds so I am now down 24 pounds in 4 months. That's the quickest I have ever lost weight so I think I will stick to the eating plan for now. I would like to add back in more carbs but I need to lose at least 20 more pounds before I should.

22 Pounds And Counting

I know the two of you who are reading this are probably wondering about the title. Well, since February, I have been dieting and trying to drop the weight I have put on over the years. As of last week, I have lost 22 pounds. I am taking a week off weighing, but I am sticking to the diet. I started working out about 2 weeks ago and am up to about 40 to 50 minutes 4 to 5 days a week. I am not lifting weights yet. I do not like running or even going to the gym, but I know that it is an important of getting healthy. I am feeling frustrated since the weight seems to be coming off more slowly lately. I lost quickly at first and now I am working hard, eating well and still only losing one pound a week. At this rate, it will take me almost a year to take off the remaining 40 pounds I am still trying to lose.

No news on the job situation. I have been assured that I have one in my current school district, but I don't know where or what grade. I have been reading your blogs, but haven't commented since my Dad is usually logged in on this computer. Since his iMac broke, he had to move my computer into the living room.

No RIF for me

I got the good news today that I will not be a part of the RIF. There were only 11 let go and they think they all should be hired back by end of summer. I do not know what school I am going to or what grade I will be teaching but I have a job for next year!!!!

Nothing else going on here. I have about 7 weeks left of school and I am ready for a nice HOT summer. I do not want it to be hot but we all know it is going to happen. Thanks for all your prayers and I will try to keep you updated.

Still Teaching...For Now

Sorry it's been so long since you heard from me. I even had to change my page because I couldn't remember which email I used to sign into it. Oh well. I will have to get my Dad to get the word out about my new page.

I got semi-bad news on Monday. The state has cut the funding for full day Kindergarten which eliminates my job with the district. I do not know how I will be affected by yet or if I will still have a position at the district at all. One problem is where that job will be. There are no openings at my school so I would have to find another one in the district and I wouldn't get a lot of choices in where I go or what grade I get. In this economy, I will follow the advice I give my 6 year olds, "You get what you get and you don't throw a fit!" I had already been praying about where to go because I haven't had the easiest year with my Kindergartners. I do believe this is God telling me that Kindergarten may not be for me. Now I just have to pray that I make the right decision.

I do read those that are still blogging, I just do not comment on them. Being a teacher makes me uncomfortable about putting info out there on the internet since we are judged by what we do and who our friends are. So do not expect me to put too much info about my work and I will probably not be joining Facebook or Twitter anytime soon. I will leave Mom and Kyle to handle that. Plus, my life is really boring. I work and work and work and see family every once a while. That's pretty much it.

Thanks for all your support!!!! God has certainly blessed me with a loving family.
